In his will the late Viscount Brentford (formerly Sir William Joynson Hicks), whose estate has been proved at £53,247, requested his widow to establish a further fund of £25,000, additional to the sum lie had already provided, for the upkeep of the title, which was created in 1929. Lord Brentford died in June. He was a baronet for ten years before his elevation to tlie peerage.
