WAIPIATA PATIENTS.

DECISIONS OF THE BOARD. Tlie Waipiata Sanatorium Committee met at Dunedin on Tuesday. Ill© chairman (Ali- JO. MacDonald) presided. Mr W. Bryant represented the Ashburton Hospital Board. - n » - The Medical Superintendent (Di. A. Kidd) reported that 11 patients ueio admitted to the institution in September and 11 discharged, while 108 (M males and 6-1 females) remained on October 1. . i;p He reported having visited the different centres uring the month and recommended as suitable for treatment in the institution two patients from the South Canterbury district, one from Waitaki, three from Ashburton, t\\o form Vincent and three from SouthThe secretary (Mr T. Pryde reported that at date of meeting the Associated Boards had patients in the institution as follows: South Canterburv 30, Southland 37, Ashburton 12, Waitaki 12, South Otago 6, Wallace 3, Vincent 4, Maniototo 3, Wamiata Sanatorium Committee 1 ; a total of 108. Of that number seven had been in tor more than two years 24 for more than one venr and the balance for less than one Venr. Since tlie previous meeting six patients bad been discharged He submitted a waiting list of 18 patients from lour hospital districts. As the Medical Superintendent advised tliat there would be some male beds empty before the end of the month the secretary was directed to have these filled as tliev became vacant It was decided to Hold the next meeting in Dunedin on Tuesday, November 29.
