Black, of Hamilton, broke the course record and headed the list in two qualifvETg rounds for the Winter Cup Competition now proceeding at the Hutt Golf Club's annual tournament. His rounds were 70 and 78, a total of 148. H. A. Black, of Miramar 79_72—151, was second, Simo, of Westpoirt, 80—78 fifth, F. O. Fryer 164, and H. E. Troutbeck 165, both of Napier, seventh and eighth respectively. The previous course record was 72.
