FIRE AT FOXTON.
DRAPERY STORE GUTTED. (Per Press Association). FOXTON, October 27. Fire occurred at Mattar's drapery shop in Moufoa Buildings, in the centre of the town, at midnight. Hie shop was gutted, and Mattar's tobacconist shop adjoining was damaged by smoke and water. Smart- work by the brigade prevented a serious conflagration. The occupants of Whyte's _ Hotel, sleeping overhead, made a hurried exit in their night attire. The damage in the hotel was restricted to smoke. The insurances are £llOO on the drapery business and £350 on the other stock, in the Commercial Union office.
