OTTAWA AGREEMENTS
FROZEN BEEF FOR BRITAIN.
INCREASE FROM NEW ZEALAND.
STATEMENT IN THE COMMONS
(United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, October 27.
In reply to questions in the House of Commons the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade (Dr. E. L. Burgin) .said that the maximum increase of 10 per cent, contemplated under the Ottawa agreements in the case of frozen beef would give an additional quantity of about 105,000 cwfc to Australia in 1933, and 40,000 to New Zealand for the season ending September 30, 1933. Limitation of the Dominions' exports would not be applied in 1934, and he did not think there would be any further limitation in Britain's imports of foreign meat beyond the figures stated in the Ottawa agreements, or would there be, in any sense, a departure from the spirit thereof.
