DESTINY OF MALTA.

NELSONIAN SCHOOL CONDEMNED LORD STRICKLAND'S VIEWS. (United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 8.40 a.m.) MALTA, October 27. Condemning the Nelsonian school of thought in England, which advocated abandonment of Malta and blockading the Mediterranean by means of bases at the entrance, Lord Strickland told the Senate that Lord Fisher's intervention had prevented abandonment of the island. If the British left Malta it would be occupied by France under threat of war. The possibility of war in the near future was indicated by the flow of capital into English banks and of masses of bullion into the Bank of France.
