ACCIDENTS & DEATHS.

INJURIES PROVE FATAL. NAPIER, October 27. The death occurred in hospital last evening of Mr S. A. Legge, assistant manager of the oil department of A. S. iPaterson and Co., aged 39. Death followed injuries received as a result of a fall over the bannisters at the Caledonian Hotel some weeks ago. At the inquest to-day, a verdict of accidental death was returned. Mr Legge came to New Zealand from England some time before the war, and was a cadet on a station in Canterbury. He served with the Expeditionary Force, and after his return entered into business for himself in Christchurch. Later he joined A. S. Paterson's branch in that city, and had been resident in Wellington for the past five years. He leaves a widow and two children.
