ENTERTAINMENTS.

MAJESTIC THEATRE. i Re-creating in all its charm and emotional appeal the most famous romance of the twentieth century, Fox Films’ spectacular production, “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm,” featuring Marian Nixon and Ralph Bellamy, will be shown to-night and to-morrow night at the Majestic Theatre. Faithfulness to Kate Douglas Wiggin’s and Charlotte Thompson’s original stage play is noted throughout the picture which relates the amazing adventures and glamorous romance of the little girl who believed in happiness. Alfred Santell’s direction, marked with constant attention to the maintenance of the original spirit of Rebecca’s character, also adds much to the entertainment values'of the film. Headed by Mae Marsh, the important supporting cast includes Louise Glosser Hale, Sarah Padden, Alan Hale, Alphorrz Etlrier, Lula Guy, Ronald Harris and many others.

UNEMPLOYED' SOCIAL. A successful social to mark the close of the unemployed men’s instruction in wool-classing was held at the Technical School last evening, when there was a, large attendance. The Deputy-Mayor (Mr R. Kerr) chairman of the Unemployment Committee, presided. Also present were: Mr J. Moore (chairman of the County Council), Mr W r . G. Gallagher (chairman of tire Hospital Board), Mr A. L. Jones (chairman of the Technical School Board), Mr R. J. Thompson (principal of the Technical School), Mr B. C. Donnelly (instructor of the class). The chairman announced that the following had obtained passes, tiro names being given in order of merit: —Messrs H. MoNichol, R. Bennison, A. .Dellow, J. Boucher and L. What,son. Ten of the class of 18 had sat for tire examination. Mr Moore extended the thanks of the County to Mr Donnelly for his interest in the men. Mr Gallagher stated that those who had attended the class now had another means of livelihood. If the women would at once discard the artificial article and stipulate wool, then the clouds of depression would soon pass. A comprehensive vote of thanks was accorded those who had taken an interest in the welfare of the students. Messrs W. Patterson (Town Clerk), A. Prentice (secretary of the Hospital Board) and J. IP. Hanratty (actingpostmaster) also congratulated Mr Donnelly on the interest he had' taken in the class. Several musical items were given by Mr A. C. Wilsons concert party.
