BIG LOAN SCHEME ABANDONED. SMALLER PUBLIC WORKS ISSUE. (United Press Association —Copyright) ("Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. “The Sydney Morning Herald’s'' Melbourne correspondent says that the Premiers’ Conference has abandoned the proposal for an internal loan of £20,000,000 and is likely to agree to an alternate proposal for an internal loan of £8,000,000 to £10,000,000 for public works. The Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons) informed the premiers that the associated banks considered it inadvisable to float a funding loan at this juncture.
