WAR MEMORIAL.
HAMPSTEAD HALL SOCIETY. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The annual meeting of the Hampstead War Memorial Hall Society was held last evening, the president (Mr W. S. Kerr) presiding. The annual report stated that a successful flower show conducted during the season bad enabled £3O to lie paid off the debt on the property, and the hall to he renovated. It was hoped that the income for the current year would be sufficient to- allow several further improvements to be made. Thanks were duo to the Advance Ashburton Association for keeping the grounds in order and to the Itev. G. B. Hinton and the Salvation Army Band for conducting Anzac Day services. The balance-sheet showed that the credit balance Jar the year had increased by £lO 17s 4d. The report and' balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr W. S. Kerr; secretary, Mr W. Miller; treasurer, Mr E. H Childs: trustees, Messrs AN. H. Robinson and A. O. Hardy: committee, Messrs F. Johnston, A. Thomson, .1. Morton, J. Cook, S. Groves and H. Money; auditor, Mr R. H. Loy. Eulogistic reference was made regarding the valuable services of Mr NV. Thompson, who retired from the secretaryship after many years. Appreciation of his services was recorded in the minutes.
