YOUTH'S SUDDEN DEATH.

WELLINGTON, This Day

A sudden death occurred on a private tennis court in Khnndallah. John Martin Gibbons, aged 19, second son of Mr A. B. Gibbons (managing director of Hope Gibbons, Ltd.) was watching a game when the ball went out.. He attempted to retrieve it but collapsed and died. He was educated at the Wanganui Collegiate School and was a student of' Victoria University College. KILLED BY CAPSIZ&D CAR. PALMERSTON NORTH, Oct. 18. Frank Ostvke, a boxmaker, aeced 20, of 55 Secicole Street, Pahiatua, a married man with two children, was killed almost instantly at 12.20 on Sunday morning, when a car in which he was a passenger capsized on a bend one and a half miles from the city. Mr Albert Futchev, the driver of the five-seater car, and Mr William Baden Mills, both of Pahiatua, escaped with shock', bruises, and minor cuts. The party had been to Feilding for the davi and were returning home via Palmerston North. When they reached the Napier Road, near the gasworks, the driver took a bad corner at 30 miles an hour a bit wide. The vehicle skidded and capsized into a ditch on the right-hand. side. Ostvke was pinned underneath. Messrs Mills and Futcher, assisted bv a gasworks employee, lifted the car, extricating the injured vouth, who died shortly afterwards, before help arrived. WOMAN FOUND DEAD. DUNEDIN, October 18. Mrs Victoria Julia McGuire, aged 53. who resided at 69 Sligo Terrace Roslyn, was found dead in an outhouse vesterdavi morning. At the inquest a Verdict was returned that death was clue to suicide while she was. in a depressed state of mind, owing to illhealth.
