DISCHARGE REFUSED.
BUILDER'S BANKRUPTCY. (Special to "The Guardian"). CHRISTOHUROH, August 17, "It appears that you were doing business on the toss of a coin. That sort of thing will not do." In these words Mr Justice Adams addressed W T illiam Henry Brown, who made application for discharge from bankruptcy in the Supreme Court this morning. , The application was opposed by tne Official Assignee (Mr J. H. Robertson). He said that the applicant was guilty of a serious offence under the Act. While'insolvent Brown -had entered into speculation in the building or a house and obtained a section on credit. Brown said that at the time he bought the section he was under the impression that he had £6OO, equity in 8 "You seem to have built a house, trusting that opportunity would bring vou the money," said his Honor. _ a appears that you have been doing business on the toss of a com; heads you win, tails you lose. That, won t do and it must lie stopped so rai as the Court can prevent it.' The application, was refused, lius Honor instructing the Assignee to look into the facts of the alleged offence.
