Chichester, who injured his hand shortly after his arrival from Lord Howe* Island in completion of his flight from New Zealand, aboard the seaplane-earner Albatross were unavailing. . “ 1 do not wish to be discourteous,” lie told an officer who tried to bring him in touch with pressmen. ‘‘l will not see reporters. I have done nothing to make a song about, and I do not like publicity” Mr Chichester is the guest of the captain of the Albatross. it is understood that Mr Chichester told the officers that visibility on the hop from Lord Howe Island was so bad that he was at times flying within a few feet of the sea. The wind was unfavourable. The magneto gave trouble. Mr Chichester is wearing a black, bushy beard, and says there are more important things to do than shave. It is believed he is looking in the direction of Japan for his next venture. Mr Chichester completed his flight front New Zealand to Australia, via Norfolk and Lord Howe Islands, last Saturday, landing alongside the aircraft carrier, H.M.S. Albatross, at Jervis Bay.
