CHURCH SPIRE CRACKS
BALLOON GUY ROPES ENTANGLED FRENCH AIR FORCE ACCIDENT. ADJOINING HOUSES EVACUATED.
(United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) PARIS, June - 12. An extraordinary incident occurred at the French Air Force manoeuvres at Toulouse. A captive balloon escaped and drifted over the village of Balma. The guy ropes became entagled in the church spire, which the strain caused to crack extensively. It is in imminent danger of collapse. Evacuation of all the neighbouring houses has been ordered.
