THE WEATHER.
RETURN OF FINE CONDITIONS.
After the cold raw conditions of yesterday, fine and warm weather returned to Ashburton to-dnv. The morning was comparatively mild for this time of the year, only four and a half degrees of frost being recorded at the Domain weather bureau. A heavy dew registered one point of moisture in the rain gauge. I’he barometric pressure at 9 a.m. to-day was 29.41 inches, compared with 29.75 inches yesterday. Extremes of temperature yesterday were 56.2 degrees and 29.6 degrees.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. The following weather forecast was issued to-day:— Indications are fer westerly winds, moderate to strong. The weather ai>pears likely to be cloudy and unsettled. Rain probable. Barometer unsteady, after about ten hours rising slowly.
