There was a sensation in the Reichstag when a Communist, quoting from allegedly official documents, showed that the German Government in 1915 paid exKing Ferdinand £1,250,000 for Bulgaria’s entry into the war. The German. Republic has since granted Ferdinand £IOO,OOO, and is still paying him a life pension of £6OOO per annum.
