FOOTBALL.
ASHBURTON OLD BOYS’ CLUB. The annual meeting of the Ashburton Old Boys’ Football Club was held last evening, Air N. Rohilliard presiding. The annual report stated that the membership totalled 50. Senior representative honours had been obtained by C. Paw,son, W. Rapley, ('. Welsh, G. d’Auvergne, K. Nicoll, J. Todd and J. Farr. Reference was also made, to the death of the last mentioned player as a result of an accident in the playing field. The balance-sheet showed that there was a small creditbalance. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected: Patron, Sir AVilliam Nosworthv; president, Air F. B. Rohilliard; vice-presi-dents, Alessrs J. W. Bowden, E. F.

Todd; committee, Messrs C. A. Hardie, H. C. Hynam, W. Rapley; auditor. Mr W. B. Thomas; coaches, Messrs G. d’Auvergne, N. Robilliard, C. H. Hardie; social committee, Messrs H. Taylor, G. d’Auvergne, A. Sutherland, L. Cooper, R. McGregor; Rugby Union delegates, Messrs M. C. Segers, A. Sutherland, \V. Ranloy, J. Todd. The opening day was fixed for April 11 and arrangements for a match on that date were loft to the committee. It was agreed to enter teams in the senior, junior and third-grade competitions. The offer of Mr A. Todd, junr., to supervise the physical training of players was accepted. A vote of thanks was accorded the High School Board for the use of the grounds and gymnasium. MATCHES IN BRITAIN. (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 19. Mid-week football matches resulted as follows: Northern Union Hulkington v. York, 12-7; Widnes v. Rochdale, 10-8; Warrington v. Wigan Higbfield, 26-10.
