WAIRARAPA MEETING. W. N. .MASEFIELD’S SUCCESS. CARTERTON, March IS. The Wairarapa championship rifle meeting was held at Papawai to-day in bright, sunny conditions. The entries wove 30 per cent, lower than last year’s. A light, varying breeze and a tricky mirage kept the shooters guessing. As the day progressed the wind strengthened slightly, hut finally died away. The championships resulted; — A Grade Championship. £4 —W. (Blenheim) ... 239 £3—E. A!. Wrigley (Opaki) ... 237 £2—H. iSimmonds (Auckland) ... 232 Cl each—W. H. Ballinger (Petone), 231; F. .1. Soler (Wanganui), A. S. Bailinger (Petone), H. Ivopport (Oamaru), 230; A. R, AVills (Invercargill), 228; R. H. Nichol (Petone), 227 ; A. IL O’Donnell (Petone), C. E. Sigvertsen, 226. B Grade Championship. £3—.l. P. Sigvertsen (Tararua) ... 230 £2—o. George (New Plymouth)... 222 CL—W. Linton (Pirinoa) 214 Alasefield won the following trophies: Ridwill Alemorial Challenge Belt (highest aggregate, Alatches 1 to 6), Bidwill Alemorial Cnallenge Shield (highest aggregate, all matches), Alaunsell Challenge Cup (highest aggregate, 600, SOO, 900 yards), Rivers Cnallenge Cup (highest aggregate, 800, 900 yards). Other trophies were won as follow: — Buchanan Alemorial Challenge Cup (midfield aggregate), E. A!. Wrigley (Opaki).* B Grade Challenge Cup (highest aggregate all matches), J. P.
