LIBERAL CRISIS.
MR LLOYD GEORGE ANGRY. VOTING ON ELECTORAL BILL.. (United Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, March 18. The defeat of the Government over the Universities’ representation clause in the Electoral Bill has produced a new crisis in the Liberal Party. An emergency meeting of the Liberal members of Parliament is being held tonight, when, according to political correspondents, Mr Lloyd George intends to speak plainly and will insist on an understanding for future united action. He is angry at'the Liberals imperilling the Electoral Bill especially. His first thought was to retire from the leadership of the Party, but lie has decided to make another effort to Consolidate it. ? : Bir Archibald Sinclair (Chief Liberal Whip) has offered his resignation owing to Monday’s split yote. It is recalled that he accepted office only on the understanding that the party would hang together.
