OIL FUEL FROM COAL.

SUCCESSFUL TESTS IN BRITAIN. GOOD PROSPECTS FOR MINING. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON. March 16. The prospect of relieving the present depression in the coalfields, is held out by Mr George Hall (Civil Lord of the Admiralty) in, a speech at Pontypridd. He said that tests carried out by the Admiralty during the last year proved that oil produced from coal gave the same results as fuel as natural oil. The Admiralty was offered bulk supply at a price not far above the world price of oil. Instead of the nation spending £42,000,000 for the importation of oil, it could divert a large proportion of the monev to the purchase of oil produced from British coalfields.
