WOOL RESEARCH.
ELIMINATION OF HAIRINESS. PALMERSTON NORTH, March 12. Flock testing for sheep'on similar principles to herd testing for cows is predicted: in future ypars as the outcome of important wool research at Ma'ssey College, where a simple, rapid and cheap method lias been evolved for testing the hairiness of, the fleece of sheep. Professor Reren says it is of immense value to the stud breeder in determining the purity of the wool of his flock, and also to the college in research work. The adoption of the method will prevent the reproduction of poor quality fibre by the systematic culling of flocks. A bulletin explaining the test is being issued.
