SURGEON TO PAY.
DAMAGES TO A PATIENT. SEQUEL TO AN OPERATION. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Receiyed This Day, 1.55 p.m.) PARIS, March 12. A prolonged legal action has closed, the Appeal Court having reaffirmed an award of £I6OO damages to a Paris dressmaker against a surgeon. Considering that her legs were overfat, the Avoman had a slice taken out of each calf. Gangrene set in, with the result that one leg had to be amputated. The Court passed! strictures upon the surgeon, considering that he should have Avarned the patient against the possible consequences.
