FAREWELL SOCIAL.
MR AND MRS R. E. L. HAMPTON. \ GATHERING AT FAIRTON. An enjoyable farewell social and dance to Mr and Mrs R. E. L. Hampton, df Newlands, was given in the Fairton Hall last evening. Mr E. A. Killey spoke of the loss to the district that would be caused by the departure of Mr and Mrs Hampton, and of the good work (Mr Hampton had done as Chairman cf the Newlands School Committee. Messrs Cameron, Chappell, and Hanrahan a Iso- spoke. In presenting a wallet to Mu* Hampton, Mr Clemens spoke on Mr Hampton’s work in connection with the Returned Soldiers’ Association. Music was supplied by Mr and bliss Arnst and Messrs McMillan and Chapman, and items were given by Mrs Mowat, Miss Grady, and Messrs R. Fentcn, W. Denley, Cassidy, and McMillan. Mr J.
