A WIFE’S ALLEGATIONS. • i (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, March 11. On the grounds of persistent cruelty and failure to maintain, Hinemoa Corelli Charlotte Richards proceeded against David Richards in the Magistrate’s Court, making application for separation, maintenance, and guardianship of the one child of the marriage, also past maintenance and security for the performance of anv order made. Mr T. B. McNeil, S.M ' presided' The hearing was adjourned until to-mor-row. Plaintiff was before her marriage a solicitor practising in Wellington, and defendant a retired professor of Otago University. He was clerk of works on a bridge contract af> the time of the "marriage. Recently plaintiff was un- — successful in an action she brought against her husband in the Supreme Court for breach of an alleged contract 'for a marriage settlement.
