ACCLIMATISATION.
NOMINATIONS FOR COUNCIL. An election to fill four vacancies on the Council of the Ashburton Acclimatisation Society will he necessary at tile annual meeting of the Society, owing to the. number of nominations exceeding that required. Four members of the Council last year retired by rotation as lollow: — Messrs A. Cates, E. li. Newton, A. 0. Pilbrow and F. Crum. Of these Mr Crum is the only one not seeking reelection. New nominees are Messrs G. D. H. Hefford and T. G. A. Harle.
