CAR GOES OVER A BANK. DEATH OF A MAN RESULTS. STRATFORD, This Day. Mr Timothy Scott, a resident of Tangarakau, was killed on the Strathmore Saddle this morning through a car "-ciing ovol ' a ~ jo feot as r result of a collision with another car at a bend. Three other occupants ol the car were taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries. The other car kept to the road, and the driver was not injured.

MAN LOSES AN EYE. HINDS FARMER'S MISFORTUNE. Injuries resulting in the loss of his right eve were sustained by Mr b. H. S. McDowell, of Hinds, last week, while putting a. shear on a. plough. A splinter Hew out and became lodged in his eye. He received medical attention in Ashbnrton and later went to Christchurch. where the splinter was removed, it was found necessary vesterdav to remove the eye. ' Mr McDowell is a m- the Public Hospital. Christchurch, and is reported to be progressing favourably.
