MISSIONARY UNION.

METHODIST WOMEN MEET. The monthly meeting of the Ashburton branch of the Methodist Women's Missionary Union was held in Baling Square Schoolroom yesterday afternoon, when the president (Mrs R. Buxton) presided over a good attendance oi members. A vote of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mrs H. Sutton, and with Mrs T. Blackburn, in her recent bereavement.

The treasurer reported that the proceeds of the missionary pageant, "The Light-bearers," when repeated, were very satisfactory. It was decided that the sum of £5 lie sent on to the New Zealand executive's funds of the M.W,M.U. A cordial welcome was extended to Mrs C. Dixon, a visitor from the Christchurch Auxiliary. Reports of work done among the Maoris in the North Island were submitted by Sisters Iris Foster and Netta Gittos. revealing the progress made, notwithstanding the difficulties encountered. Some of the difficulties referred to were explained bv Mrs R. B. Tinslev.

Easter greetings were directed to be sent to Sister Eleanor, of the Hokianga Maori Mission. Tea was served, and good business was done in connection with the Bring-and-Buy Stall.
