BODY RECOVERED FROM RIVER.

(Per Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, This Day. The body of a man believed to be Rodney Bernard Shannon, a storekeeper at Te Kopuru, who has been missing for a fortnight, was found in the river last night. Shannon went to Auckland on business and telegraphed to his wife that he was returning but failed to do so. It is learned that he was seen to join the boat at Helensville on the return journey, but being practically a stranger in the district he was not known very well. Mr Shannon came to Te Kopuru from Whakatane.

SERIOUSLY INJURED BY CAR.

DUNEDIN, This Day. Mr Robert Callander, aged a married man, who resides at East Taieri, was admitted to the hospital late last evening suffering from injuries to his head, sustained when he was knocked down by a motor-car near Springbank. His condition is serious.

INJURIES PROVE FATAL.

TIMARU, This Day. Mr George Greaves, an elderly man, residing at Gleniti, died in Timaru Public Hospital last night as a result of injuries received through being knocked down by a cyclist. It is understood that deceased was proceeding along a footpath at Gleniti oile evening last week, when he was run into by a man on a bicycle. It is alleged that the cyclist had no light. He also was injured, and is at present an inmate of the Public Hospital.
