OBITUARY.
LORD DEWAR. (Rceived This Day, 12.30 rv.m.) LONDON, Anril 11. Lord ‘Vewar is dead, aged 66. Thomas Robert Dewar, first baron, was a director of several distillery companies, including John Dewar and Sons, Bucbanan-Dewar, and the Distillers’ Company. He was Conservative M.P. for St. George’s, Tower Hamlets (London), from 1900 to 1906. Lord Dewar was unmarried. His witticisms in after-dinner speeches gained Empire-wide currency. MR F. MARTIN TAYLOR. (Special to the “Guardian.”) AUCKLAND, April 11. The death lias occurred of Mr Martin Taylor, who was widely known in sporting circles. He was 78. Mr Taylor was born in Cumberland and came to New Zealand 54 years ago. He was in business in Dunedin and came to Auckland 28 years ago. Mr Taylor was closely associated with coursing and also was keenly interested in trotting. He is survived, by his wife, one son, Mr C. Taylor, of Auckland, and two daughters, Mrs Davjson, of Ralcaia, and Mrs Delargev, of Auckland.
