Without a word of debate tli* Senate approved a direct appropriation of £7,200,000 for prohibition enforcement next year. This is the same figure which the House of Representatives set. PERIODICAL CONDUCTS A POLL. / NEW YORK, April 9. The poll taken by the “Literary Digest” totalled 2,51(3,072 votes. Of this number 712,549 were for enforcement of Prohibition, 754,266 for modification, and 1,049,257 for repeal. Kansas alone of the 44 States reporting remains “dry.”
