SIR ADRIAN KNOX.
LABOUR MEMBER’S CRITICISM. VIOLENT SCENE IN PARLIAMENT. (United Press Association—Copyright.) CANBERRA, April 10. There was a violent scene in the House of Representatives this afternoon, when Mr Eldridge, Labour member for Paramatta,, attacked Sir Adrian Knox, the former Chief Justice of the High Court. Mr Eldridge declared that Sir Adrian Knox had made a sensational exit from the judiciary after his hand had been exposed, and after becoming the beneficiary to the extent of a million sterling under the will of a, man who had thrown thousands of families into misety and suffering. Opposition members shouted protests, whereupon tlie Chairman of the Committee ruled that judges who resigned were exposed to criticism, and enjoyed no Parliamentary protection.
