TAXI WAR ENDS.
CHARCES IN AUCKLAND. (Per Press Association.; AUCKLAND, April 9. The taxi war in Auckland has come to an end, the three leading companies having agreed on a new scale of charges. The new rates will come into operation before Easter. A'special rate area has been defined, and within this area the charges will be Is a mile for the first two miles, 2s 6d for three miles and 3s for four and five miles. After that each additional mile will be charged for at the rate of 6d. The previous charge for five miles varied from 2s to 2s Gd, the tariffs of the different companies varying to that extent.
