DEATH OF FLAXCUTTER. (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, April 9. . A verdict that the deceased met death as the result of a shock and haemorrhage, due to an accidentally self-inflicted wound, was returned by the Coroner (Mr A. J. Graham) at an inquest concerning the death of Albert A'Court, who received an injury while cutting flax in a swamp between Foxton and Shannon. The Coroner added that everything possible appeared to have been done. The deceased had had every attention. MOTOR-CYCLE STRIKES A COW. / - CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Mr David Shaw, aged 21, was admitted to the Hospital suffering from concussion, his condition being serious. His injuries were the result of being thrown off a motor-cycle through a collision with a cow. GIRL'S UNUSUAL ACCIDENT. WAIMATE, April 9. (Per Press Association.) ■ PAHIATUA, April 9. Mr John Galyin, aged 35, the victim of the Belgroye Hotel fire was formerly a resident of this district. At the age of 21 he was assistant stationmaster at Maiigatainoka. He left the district several years ago. His father died lately, but his mother and members of the family reside here. YOUTH ACCIDENTALLY SHOT. (Special to the "Guardian.") CHRISTCHURCH. April 9. Lance Turner, aged 16, residing with his parents at 26, Ferry Road, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital last evening suffering from a bullet wound in the chest over the heart. The lad was cleaning a rifle when it exploded, and the bullet entered his chest. He had been out shooting on Sunday last, but had left the cleaning of the'rifle until last evening, and had neglected to take out the cartridge. His condition this morning was reported to be quite satisfactory. He will be placed under the X-rays to-day. .
