ACCOMPANTEID BY LADY

BLEDISLOE

Their Excellencies, Lord and Lady Bledisloe, passed through Ashburton by the express train this morning on their way to pay their first visit to Dunedin. The party travelled in the official car at the. rear of the train. His Excellence showed a kindly interest in a number of school children en the platform and spoke to several people. As the train left for the south, the children cheered.

A Press Association message from Christchureh states that the GovernorGeneral and Lady Bledisloe had a full day .yesterday. In the morning they visited the Addington market, where Lord Bledisloe showed keen interest in the stock.

Afterwards they visited the hospital and the consumptive sanatoria on the Hills. In the evening their Excellencies attended a special welcome to Lady Bledisloe, who is Welsh,, by the Cambrian Society. t> \
