DEATH PENALTY LIMIT
OFFENCES IN THE ARMY. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, April 7. In the House of Commons, the Army (Annual) Bill Avas read a third time. The House agreed to an amendment rectifying the A’ote'on Sir George Gourthope’s amendment. Mr T. Shaw (Secretary for War) said the death penalty Avas now restricted to treachery and mutiny. In the debate in the House of Commons last Friday, Sir George Courthope’s amendment retaining the death penalty for a man leaving his post or attempting a create a false alarm was declared carried amidst Ministerial protests that the question Avas not clearly understood. t
