SHOOTING JUSTIFIED.
SURREY HILLS TRAGEDY. WOMAN ACQUITTED OF MURDER. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) f SYDNEY, Tins Day. The City Coroner found that the shooting of John Prendergast on March 27 was justifiable. Mrs Barry, who had been charged with murder, was discharged. A Sydpey cablegram dated March 27 stated": Receiving information that a shop in Surrey Hills was being raided, thef police went there and found John Prendergast, aged 23, dying in the yard. He succumbed an hour later in hospital from a. bullet wound in the abdomen. Mrs Kathleen Barry (owner of the shop) was arrested and charged with murder, and three men have been captured by the nolice on charges _ of breaking and entering. The shooting is enveloped in mystery, and no motive can be ascribed for the raid on the shop.
