A SENTENCE REDUCED. (Per Press Association..) WELLINGTON, April 5. The Court of Appeal dealt with the appeal of William Ingram from a sentence imposed on him at Auckland on August 5 last, when he was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on a charge of false pretences and issuing valueless cheques, and was declared to be an habitual criminal. The Court reduced the sentence to 12 calendar months’ imprisonment. The declaration that prisoner is an habitual criminal will stand.
