TE MARAE COMPETITIONS. There was a good attendance at the Te Marae Lawn Tennis Club courts on Saturdav afternoon, when the finals of several "of the Club competitions were got off. The weather was dull and cool. This was the closing day for the season so far as Te Marae Club was concerned. MOUNT SOMERS v. ALFORD FOREST. A team from tlie Alford Forest Tennis Club visited Mount Somers on Saturday afternoon and played a friendly match with the local club. The match was not finished owing to darkness setting in, when the local club bad a substantial lead. The match, although a return due by the local club, was by arrangement played on the local courts owing to Alford Forest having only one court. The visitors entertained the local nlayeis at afternoon tea. The results were as follow, Alford Forest players being mentioned first:—
