The Rev. A. J. Petrie (vicar of St. Stephen’s Church) will attend a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Diocese at Christchurch to-morrow. Rear-Admiral R. E. Byrd, together with a number of His staff, passed through Ashburton by the first northbound express train this afternoon, en route to America.
