FLYERS RESCUED
SMITH AND SHIERS SAFE. DISCOVERED BY MOTOR PARTY. BADLY IN NEED OF FOOD. (United Press Association—Copyright.) •SYDNEY, March 31. Confirmation has been received from Perth that the Australian flyers, Lieutenants Smith and Shiers, who made a forced landing while en route to Wyndham preparatory to leaving for Britain, were found about 1.40 this afternoon by Sergeant King’s motor party, which started out from Brooms. A radio message was received from Lieutenant Smith at the Wyndham Meat Works at 2 p.m. saying: “We have been found by King’s party. All 0.K.; thanks to station VMZAJ>— Dave Smith.” MESSAGE FROM WYNDHAM PICKED UP. , . SYDNEY, March 31. Mr W. R. Felton (a private radio experimenter at Sydney) received a message from Wyndham this afternoon saying that Messrs Smith and Shiers had been found, and asking that the civil aviation authorities be advised. The aeroplane City of Sydney is expected to reach Wyndham to-day after repairs to the machine have been effected. Sergeant King’s party found the airmen near Argyle Station, 80 miles south-east of Wyndham. They badly needed food. A runway is being cleared at Wyndham for the ’plane to take off for the first stage of the flight to England.

DUE AT SYDNEY TO-MORROW. SYDNEY, March 31. Flying-Officers H. L. Piper, of Christchurch, and' C. Kaye, of Auckland, who experienced engine trouble after leaving Longreach, and who were forced down for repairs, will not reach Sydney until Wednesday.
