Franz Neumayer was sentenced to imprisonment for life with hard laboiiT for killing his step-brother and two strangers. A triple murder, unprecedented in, the history of crime, came before the Court at Korneuhurg, when a young farmer, Franz Neumayer, was accused of killing his step-brother and two cyclist strangers on August 3dast hy stretching across a road a wire connected with an overhead power cable carrying 20,000 'volts. The cast was without a clue until the police found that Franz was an expert electricianand also that he would succeed to his brother’ s inheritance in the case of his ‘death. Franz first denied, then confessed, and finally retracted his confession. It is stated that Neumayer was jealous of his elder step-brother, Matthias, because the latter was entitled to a large share of patrimony and also a larger marriage gift. Matthias was returning from a visit to his fiance when he met his death. '
