SURPRISE GIFT.
LEGACY WORTH £50,000, As welcome as it is unexpected is a windfall of £50,000 which has come to the North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, Stoke-on-Trent. Five years ago Miss Dora Twyford, a daughter of the late Mr Thomas Twyford, principal of Messrs Twyfords, Ltd., of the Potteries, died, and left £12,000 to the infirmary for -the erection of a new wing in memory of her father and mother, and £IOO for the maintenance fund of the infirmary. The new gift of £50,000 _ is entirely without conditions, and is to be paid from the residue of Miss Twyford's estate. As the infirmary is in debt to the extent of over £60.000 this legacy relieves the governors of. much anxiety.
