BURGLARS DISTURBED
ATTEMPT TO BLOW UP SAFE. (Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 13. An attempt Was made at 4.30 this morning to blow up the Harbour Board's office safe. A nightwatehman heard the explosion nnd found the back doer open, but the men escaped while he telephoned the police. The door of the safe was damaged, but was not opened, and nothing was stolen. Recently gelignite and a fuse were stolen from the magazine.
