OLD BOYS’ CLUB. REVIEW OF PAST SEASON. The annual meeting of the Old Boys’ Footljall yClub was held last- evening, , when tire club captain (Mr G. C. Nicoll) presided over a fair attendance. The' report stated that the membership was about 60, but a large number of these were not financial. The Club entered three teams in the County Rugby Union’s Competitions: one senior, one junior and one third grade. The senior team had a successful season; again winning the Senior Competition and Watters Cup, also Senior Seven-a-Side competition. The members of the team were to be congratulated on their meritorious record, which was to a great extent due to their keenness and consistent training. The Juniors had a hard road to hoe from the outset, and on more than one occasion had difficulty in mustering a full team. However, they acquitted themselves creditably in the circumstances, and' it is hoped that there would be more material for this team to draw upon ini the coming season. The junior seven-a-side team was runner-up in the competition. The third grade team showed considerable promise, and were runners-up in the Third Grade competitions and winners of the seven-a-side tournament. They were a keen team and were fortunate in having the services of Mr N. Robilliard as coach. The thanks of the club are due to Mr Robilliard for his work in this connection. The following members gained Senior representative honours during the season: E. Clark. J. Farr, C. Pawson, W. Rapley, J, Todd, Iv. Nicoll, 0. Friedlander, B. Lane, F. Davis. It was with deep regret that the committee recorded the death of Mr Harold Morgan, who, as honorary secretary proved himself to be a tireless worker and a valuable officer. His genial personality made him popular with all members.

Continuing, the report states that, during the year the club lost the services of Messrs W. F. Watters (patron), T. M. Clark (president), A. S. Christie (a vice-president) and E. Clark (a member of the senior team). The de r parting officers and Air E. Clark were farwelled by the club and to each was made a presentation. The annual ball, despite excellent arrangements by the committee, was not largely attended, and resulfed in a loss of £3 6s. The committee had nominated the following for office on the Rugby Union:—President, Air F. Pritchard; vice-presidents, Alessrs H. Sarney and M. Segers. The financial statement showed that the season was commenced with a credit of £l2 14s 6d, and ended with a credit of £l9 17s Bd. The- chairman spoke of the sterling work of the secretary last year (the late Air H. F. Alorgan), and it was decided that the club’s appreciation be recorded in the minutes. Davis; management committee, Alessrs T. B. Lane, N. Cornish, J. Todd and officers; honorary auditor, Mr W. B. Thomas; selection committee, club captain, three team captains and coach; social committee, Messrs G. d’Auvergne (convenor), J. Tansley, K. Nicoll, E. Millichamp, L. Cooper, H. Taylor, A. Bruce, R. AlcGregor. The appointment of four delegates to the Rugby Union was left in the hands of the committee. The chairman reported that Air Segers had declined to stand for the office of one of the vice-presidents of the Rugby Union, for which position he had been nominated by the committee. It was decided that the opening day he Saturday, April 5. v With regard to the appointment of a coach, the chairman said the president had consented to assist on Tuesday nights. Other prospective men for the position had been approached, hut nothing definite had been reached. The matter of the appointment was left in the hands of the committee. It was decided that the thanks of the club be expressed to those who . had assisted in conveying players to [ matches. An appeal from the Ashburton branch of the Plunket iSociety for a donation toward the erection of suitalfle building was referred to the'incoming committee.'Mr B. Lane referred to the services of Air G. C. Nicoll, who had resigned the office of club captain, and it was decided that the club’s appreciation be recorded in the minutes. During the last three months Air Nicoll had undertaken the offices of acting-presi-dent, club captain and acting-secre-tary.
