SENTENCES IN WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. March 6. Harry Coronno, Cedric Maitland. Gay and Ernest Charles Smith—three young men who had admitted two charges of breaking, entering and theft, all of whom had previously been convicted—were sentenced to three years’ Borstal to-day by Mr Justice Blair. Albert John Higgs, on a similar charge was sentenced' to two years” Borstal. Ernest Reginald Dott, alias McTarrich, on a charge of theft and one of breaking, entering and theft, was sentenced to eighteen months’ hard labour. His Honor remarked that Dott had been in New Zealand only a few months and his conduct would lead one to believe that he had left some other country for a very good reason. Robert Irvine Owens, on three charges of breaking, entering and theft and breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime, was sentenced to three years’ hard labour. In the Supremo Court to-day, before Mr Justice Kennedy, James McLaren, for theft of £B3, the property o c the Waitaki County Council, was sentenced to nine months’ hard labour. Henry Stock, for attempted carnal knowledge, was placed on probation for three years. George Gallie Millen, on four charges of indecent assault on young girls, was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention.
