Fighting against the rebels, Italian troops captured and occupied Murzuk, •riving them command of the entire inland.'Tripoli. Italy in 1924 abandoned Murzuk and other inland posts, limiting her occupation to coastal areas. Re-conquest of the interior has continuad gradually since ]j)27. In the fighting at Murzuk 48 natives were captured and 12 captured. Air forces overtook and annihilated a retreating column comprising 300 camels.
