I FALLS WITH A GIRDER.
A REMARKABLE ESCAPE

William Thomson, aged 29, a dogman, had a remarkable escape from death when a girder slipped from a steel sling a. hundred feet up. He clung desperately to it. The girder caught in the framework of the building after falling 30 feet . and a second girder fell on Thomson, pinning him _to the first. His mates levered the second girder from his body and it crashed 70'feet below. Thomson was taken to the hospital wjth an injured hip and suffering from severe shock.
