MAN'S BODY FOUND. (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, January 16. The police advise that the body of Patrick James Mulligan, aged 70, was found this morning in an advanced stage of decomposition in a ditch which led to his hut in the bush at Tuatapere. Deceased lived alone, and was last seen about Christmas time.

RIVERTON BATHING FATALITY.

INVERCARGILL, January 16. At the inquest at Riverton to-day on Charles Gray the jury returned the following verdict: —That deceased, Charles Thomas Gray, died at the Wallace Hpsjjital on January 14, 1930, through divers fractures of the spine, caused when he plunged into the Aparima River near the Riverton boatsheds on January 13, 1930. WOMAN COLLAPSES IN SHOP. DUNEDLY, January 16. Daisy Elizabeth Moss, aged 40, who resided in Oamaru. was taken suddenly ill in a Dunedin store this afternoon, and died on the way to hospital. Deceased was trying on frocks when she complained of feeling ill and asked for some brandy, but she immediately became unconscious.

An inquest will be held to-morrow morning.

CHILD SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES. TIMARU, This Day. A fatal accident occurred at the Temuka traffic bridge about 10 o'clock yesterday morning, when the four-year-old' son of Mr and Mrs J. D. Haar, of Studholme Street, Temuka, was struck by a motor-car driven by Mr George Looker, who resides in the district. It is stated that while the vehicle was travelling along the northern approach of the bridge the child suddenlv rushed across the -road, and although the brakes were applied, th© accident could not be prevented. The child was taken to the Te Rata Hospital in Mr Looker's car, and was attended to by Dr. Scannell, but it succumbed to injuries about 20 minutes after being An inquest will be opened this morning.
