ESCAPE FROM POLICE.
SOON AFTER ARREST. ("Per Press Association ) WELLINGTON, January 16. After having been apprehended by Acting-Detective Hall about 2 o'clock to-day, a man who had been found in suspicious circumstances escaped while being escorted to the police station by running into the Union Steam Ship Company's building. The building, was quickly surrounded by the police, and although a thorough search was instituted, the wanted man could not he located and was still missing to-night.
