LOCAL BODY RATES.
BOROUGH AND WAKANUI. * A total of £2085 4s Id was outstanding in llio Borough rates last evening. Of the total amount struck, £11,358 3s, the sum of £9272 18s 8d was paid up till yesterday. To-day was the last occasion on which rates could be paid, without incurring the additional penalty. A penalty of 1(1 per cent, will be charged on all rates strucki by the Wakanui Road Board that are unpaid by to-morrow. Of the total of £ll4O, the sum of £220 remained unpaid this afternoon.
